we are constantly being reborn
giving birth to ourselves
building nests
rejecting nests built for us and by us and those not yet created
tearing down
nests cocoons webs
building waiting destroying hatching rising birthing
making things “just so”
or shirking those conventions
nests to strengthen our wings
nests to shelter and to hide
to nurture
to be born and be reborn
birthing ourselves
constantly becoming
or drastically
it may be
why we can never clearly truthfully honestly
recall the past, what has passed
like a dream
we are reborn
from this moment
to this moment.

sweet anguish
belly deep moan
silent though
for all listening
blink it bright eyed
instead of less than okey doke
ever the stoic
closet full of
want of
nameless more

long standing familiar
creep my I
in those quivering hours
when vigilant
corners peek
thoughts all a scurry
ticka ticka tick
me wide of eye
all full up
with the pick apart

sun come slow
ere glare
grace me silent hours

struck down crush
no bones
would crunch
but a soul would shake
you were born
long while ago now
today you are broken
long while
ever after?
dust it off shake
I watch you
find you
found you
lost you
come on up
to the living land
your own two feet
back under burden
shook you look you
still breathe
mama child
this life is wild
for the sake of a
settle up
let down your
blow out your candles
wish yourself up
greater than this
this ash
needs a strong wind
clean breeze
stretch your arms out wide
open launch

squashing the muffin

i complain a lot
out loud
or in my head
either or
a complaint is
a complaint
whether it touches air or no
there it is
a hanging atmospheric
clogging the flow
hand pressed down
atop my head
yours mine theirs ours
it does not matter
the palm presses
slow weight
impairment of ease
where is my easel
“cause theres still time t’ change throad yuron”
ear to the shoulder
chin to the chest
in through the nose
out through the mouth

did you ever think about something that bothered you for years and years or days or weeks or whatever, and chewed and stewed and mulled it over and obsessed till it became some all encompassing obsession, thorn in your side thing that was just holding you back and then decided one day enough was enough and confronted the situation/person/obstacle in hopes of moving forward in this lifetime and maybe turning a new page to find that the outcome you had hoped for was actually horribly not what you had wanted to happen, and maybe you didnt even get a chance to finish your sentence before the whole idea was crushed while you stood there saying but but but WAIT STOP!!!! This is not how this conversation was supposed to go. I was supposed to say one thing and then you say this other thing and we go back and forth and the issue is resolved and everything becomes yay wheee happy happy and we all live happily ever after, but what really happens is an even worse situation than the one you started out with in the first place and now not only are you not happy but now a bunch of other people arent happy simply because you never even got to explain wtf you were talking about in the first place because people have lost the art of learning how to listen.

that time of year
little old ladies
get the hose out
wash the walkway
vacuum the lawn
the neighbors dandelion kingdom
tisk scowl
trick planting
silk flowers
in white plastic swans
i love them
their lack of
environmental accountability
in the rightness
of their spray can
of raid
